Donation Policy
This policy outlines the principles and guidelines governing donations made to Africa Access Water to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with our mission to equip rural communities with solar-powered water infrastructure for productive use, food security, and improved livelihoods.
Africa Access Water accepts donations in the form of monetary contributions, in-kind support, and grants that align with our values of patriotism, sustainable development, and economic empowerment. Donations must support activities that adhere to our mission.
We do not accept donations that:
- Compromise our independence or integrity.
- Conflict with our commitment to sustainable development, ethical practices, and community empowerment.
- Originate from entities involved in illegal, harmful, or environmentally destructive practices.
We respect the rights of all donors, including the right to:
- Know how their donations will be utilized and the impact generated.
- Have their donations acknowledged publicly (unless anonymity is requested).
- Receive periodic updates on the progress of funded projects.
Africa Access Water commits to:
- Using all donations efficiently and effectively toward the designated purpose or project.
- Providing transparent financial reporting through annual reports that detail our use of funds.
- Offering donors access to information on project outcomes and impact.
Donations will be applied in accordance with the donor’s intent. Unrestricted funds will be directed to the areas of greatest need, ensuring they contribute to achieving our mission and sustainability goals.
Refunds on donations are generally not offered due to the immediate application of funds in project implementation. Exceptions will be made if donations were made in error, which must be reported within 14 days.
Africa Access Water reserves the right to refuse or return any donation that does not align with our values, mission, or ethical standards. In such cases, we will communicate with the donor promptly and transparently.
